Double win for Unilever Singapore at Marketing Excellence Awards 2016
4 NOVEMBER 2016 – Fresh from a series of wins at the Marketing Events Awards 2016, Unilever Singapore Ice Cream category scored two more awards at Marketing Magazine’s Marketing Excellence Awards 2016 held at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore on Thursday.
Dedicated to recognising and celebrating the best works in the marketing communications services industry, the Marketing Excellence Awards 2016 is one of Singapore’s largest award shows for marketers.
This year’s line-up saw hundreds of entries vying to be the best in each of 33 categories, including works from the likes of Audi, Canon and Visa. Judged by an expert panel of industry leaders and senior marketers, the finalists represented the very best in the industry.
Despite strong competition, Unilever Singapore came through with a commendable performance, attaining four nominations and two trophies:
Excellence in Experiential Marketing – Cornetto Shake it Off Battle (SILVER)
Excellence in Marketing to a Female Audience – Magnum Mansion: Release the Beast, Dare to Go Double (BRONZE)
Excellence in Event Marketing – Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day: Thank you, Singapore!
Excellence in Sponsorship Activation – Cornetto Shake it Off Battle
Faced with the challenge of remaining relevant to a largely teenage audience, Cornetto’s PR-led campaign, Cornetto Shake it Off Battle, tapped on fans’ passion for music and connectedness to social media to maximise the potential in a continued partnership with ten-time Grammy winning singer/songwriter, Taylor Swift.
Bringing fans closer to the music they love, Cornetto launched the limited edition Cornetto Royale Taylor Swift Caramel Shake with a lid redemption promotion for fans to redeem exclusive merchandise and premium concert tickets.Tapping on the popular trend of lip sync battles, fans were also treated to exciting battles both online and on-ground at weekly roadshows, for a chance to win the ultimate grand prize of meeting Taylor Swift herself! With Cornetto presenting more ways to win, our fans were given unforgettable opportunities to enjoy the ride and love the ending!
In 2016, Magnum launched the new bold and indulgent Magnum Doubles collection – Magnum Double Chocolate and Magnum Double Peanut Butter, in line with the overall campaign theme of “Release the Beast, Dare to Go Double”.
Inspired by the part of our personalities which seeks to make every indulgence count, Magnum built a temple to pleasure – an experience that is layered, just like the Magnum Double itself. Magnum further partnered iconic storytellers and regional powerhouses in their own right to present the ultimate party – MAGNUM MANSION.
Bringing the theme to life, Magnum amped up the trademark “Make-My-Magnum” experience at the Magnum Double Pleasure Bar. Melissa Celestine Koh helmed the Magnum Style Lounge daring Pleasure Seeker’s to release their inner style beasts. DJ A/K/A and DJ DuriO, co-founders of Singapore’s pioneer all-female DJ collective, ATTAGIRL!, added yet another layer of indulgence with mind-blowing beats that evoked our guests’ wildest party animals, daring them to “Release the Beast, Dare to Go Double”.
