Cornetto Gives Fans a Chance to Meet Taylor Swift!
Earlier this year, Cornetto announced their continued partnership with seven-time GRAMMY winning singer/songwriter Taylor Swift’s The 1989 World Tour in Singapore. To celebrate, Cornetto introduced the exclusive, limited edition Cornetto Taylor Swift Caramel Shake, wrapped in a specially-designed Taylor Swift packaging. The full product range also allowed fans to win premium concert seats and redeem attractive Cornetto & Taylor Swift merchandise by keying in codes found on the lids and boxes at www.cornetto.com.sg
Passionate about bringing fans closer to the music they love, Cornetto took a step further to organise a series of activations to give fans numerous opportunities to win through various fun and exciting activities!
The big idea was the Cornetto Shake it Off Battle: the ultimate lip sync battle in search of the most entertaining Swiftie with the best rendition of Taylor Swift’s hit song, Shake it Off.
Held at roadshows around Singapore from 12 September to 31 October, the Cornetto Shake it Off Battle promised Swifties an afternoon of fun with friends. Hosted by 987 DJs, there were live music performances, free samples of the limited edition Cornetto Taylor Swift Caramel Shake ice cream and chances to win cool Cornetto and Taylor Swift merchandise through stage games.
Cornetto also gave away concert tickets through weekly lucky draws where fans had to collect a set of six different Cornetto lids in exchange for a lucky draw slip, as well as a Halloween special to look for fans in the Best Taylor-inspired outfit.
To take part, fans first video-auditioned on social media via Instagram or Twitter with #Cornettoshakeitoff. Cornetto also provided a live audition booth at weekly roadshows, complete with cool props and costumes.
Shortlisted contestants then participated in the Live Battle stage at the weekly roadshows which were filmed and hosted on www.cornetto.com.sg for public voting. Weekly top two voted contestants each won a pair of Category 1 concert tickets and progressed to the nail-biting Finale.
At the Finale, eight finalists from the four Live Battles further showcased their musicality and energy to outperform each other for a chance to meet Taylor Swift in person at The 1989 World Tour and win a year’s supply of Cornetto, among other exclusive Cornetto Taylor Swift merchandise. The winners were eventually selected by a panel of judges, which included 987FM and Night Owl Cinematics who were engaged as local campaign advocates for their irreverent fun personality and influence among teens.
The excitement continued on 7 and 8 November at the Singapore Indoor Stadium before Taylor Swift’s sold-out concert. Fans could get up close with Taylor at two photo booths and were rewarded with free photo prints at the Instaprint booth. 987FM DJs on-ground also engaged fans through games for the last chance to win exclusive Cornetto Taylor Swift merchandise and encouraged fans to have a cool Cornetto ice cream before the sizzling hot concert!
