Magnum celebrates Eva Longoria
To celebrate this and to announce the new Magnum spokesperson - A-list Hollywood star, Eva Longoria, a magnum-licious ‘M’ Party was thrown for the press, trade partners, and industry VIPs on Thursday, 3 July, at Barfly.

To celebrate this and to announce the new Magnum spokesperson - A-list Hollywood star, Eva Longoria, a magnum-licious ‘M’ Party was thrown for the press, trade partners, and industry VIPs on Thursday, 3 July, at Barfly. The spotlight of the evening was on the Room Full of Dark Desires, a Magnum teaser that made its way from public display on Orchard Road last weekend (27-29 June) to the indulgent Magnum party.
Built and styled like Eva’s Boudoir, intimate and decadent, it housed 5 temptations that any girl worth her Magnum Ecuador Dark should have: A lot of magnums, a gorgeous cocktail ‘M’ dress, a daring pair of red heels, a glittering statement-making diamante necklace and earring set, and the quintessential evening clutch bag. No one knows more about a girl’s best temptations and indulgences than celebrated Bridal Designer, Frederick Lee, who created the aforementioned Magnum-inspired fashion temptations including the gla‘m’ourous fringed cocktail dress with a low sexy ‘M’ back, and bold red stilettos, jaunty with swaroski crystals and red feathers.
Amongst the glittering and indulgence-savvy who attended and imbibed in Magnum goodness and Magnum-tinis (frothy, delicious and tipped with chocolate bits) were theatre favourites, Emma Yong and Beatrice Chia, newly crowned runner-up of Mrs World ’08 - Colleen Francesca, and new faces to watch on serial prime time - Mediacorp artistes Kang Cheng Xi, Andie Chen, Chen Xia Zhong, Koh Yah Hwee and Tay Yong Meng, as well as Kosmic Film Artiste, Jeneen Goh.
More than 600 magnums were consumed that evening– averaging out to 2.8 magnums per guest! And overheard during the party’s reason for indulgence: “I can definitely get dirty with this…” but as the copy goes, ‘Drooling is permitted, Dripping is not’, sweetheart.
Not just a night for taking, 2 lucky winners also walked away with the Magnum inspired pieces designed by Fredrick Lee. Kate Ng, who correctly guessed the 5 temptations in the Room Full of Desire’s contest, won the highly coveted ‘M’ Clutch bag, while Wong Ching Yee strutted away in the Eva-inspired pair of red stilettos.
On her collaboration with Magnum, Eva Longoria says, “I like to attach myself and my name to something that’s representative of me and what I like to stand for, and that’s high quality, rich indulgence and sexy sensuality. All of the qualities that the Magnum brand embodies are synonymous with what I represent.”
Outside of Europe, Singapore is the first country in Asia to feature the Magnum/Eva Longoria ad campaign that runs from 30 June through September. Post-party atmosphere after, guests were charmed by the little Magnum thumb drives discovered in the Magnum goodie bags. Some required double helpings and Magnum’s only too happy to indulge! Also nestled in the Magnum goodie bag (that is also a vanity bag) was a Magnum phone charm. No ordinary phone or bag charm, it also works in place of the $1 token insert in supermarket trolleys. Eva Longoria as Gabrielle, the most glamorous of housewives, will definitely approve.
